algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Do You know guys some tutorial can throw idea how to start this kind of geometry? I found that in complex geometry and want to train similiar.

1. Design a 2d tesselating pattern.

2. Map the pattern vertices to polar coordinates (x and y coordinates becomes angle and radius). Here you also need to decide the number of angular repetitions of the basic module and if the radius mapping should be linear or something else (affects the aspect ratio of the pattern).

3. Create pyramids of the pattern shapes by extruding them with a taper value or make your own pyramids by a) find the midpoints b) move them in z direction and c) build triangles using the translated midpoints and the shape edge lines.
