algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi i am beginner at karamba,

I want to optimize my hexagonal members,
By optimizing I mean, I want to use the best circular (hollow) profile diameter and it's thickness for particular members. For example, I want to different circular (hollow) profiles, for different members (one for compressional, one for tension, and one for null members).

but i dont know how should i do that...

thanks for your help

Hi,

The cross section optimizer component will simulate this process of assigning smaller cross sections for beams in tension and vice versa for those in compression. However another work around is to analyze the entire model initially and use the Beam Forces component (Normal Force output) to check which members are indeed in tension and compression and assign the cross sections afterwards. You would need to disassemble the model and reassemble the model using his process.

best,

Matthew

Thanks for reply.

how i can recognize that which members are indeed in tension or compression?

and for optimization, should i use cross section optimizer?

i am beginner at karamba and i don't know what should i do...
