Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Guys,

I am having a problem to offset my hexagon Facade as to make it the structural framework for my skyscraper. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Thank you very much =)

Hi Hui,

Maybe instead of trying to offset the hexagon pattern, an additional inner (or outer) surface can be made, and then a hexagon pattern implemented on it, the same way you did with the original one (surface).

Does that help?

Hi djordje,

Thx for your reply, but what i need is to offset the hexagon to become a frame.

This is  the example that i wish to achieve.

Thank you.

I misunderstood you, sorry. I understand now.

You can not offset those hexagon polygons, as they are not planar. That is why your offset looks like mess.
The solution would probably look like this:

But I am not getting the result out of the "sweep1" component, for some reason. I do not know why.
Somebody else may try to help you, sorry.

Either that or use a "pipe" component, but in that way you will get round profiles, not rectangular.

Thanks =) I really appreciate that.

Have a nice day =)

with lunchbox plug in and starling plug in. Only thing is the nurbs seam from rhino, but you can delete it after baking.
