Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I have a nice function that I am using to change the height of this shoe last.

I have two problems with this function though:

1) the ends are cut off (due to lofting vertically)

2) it is really difficult to loft and usually crashes my computer. the curves created are often overlapping, not closed and not 'seam'ed. I manually need to divide them down the middle and fix them (close them/join them/seam them) and loft parts of the structure at a time.

Any hints, tips of advice on how to make this process smoother would really be helpful. Particularly with point (1).

Thanks!

Have a nice day.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your message.

Yes I agree, the loft is not great. However my aim is to be able to 'quickly' change the shape of the last by adjusting the curve  (degree of curvature or height).

I think it is pretty cool in theory, however the lofting isn't great. I don't mind if it is a surface in a end, and not tooo worried about the quality.

I just feel like I am missing a trick.

Manually would be very time consuming no? It wouldn't feel very 'neat'. But again, I am a beginner.
