Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

Thanks for the help.

We are trying to develop a bench prototype in Grasshopper for eventual production.

We want to sweep several profiles a long a curve but we also want to be able to change all parameters of these profiles (length, angle, etc.).

The problem for us (which I'm sure is easy for most of you) is that we can't make our profiles be perpendicular to the rail curve.

We create every profile starting with a point along the divided curve and start drawing segments from this point. After all segments are created we join them and sweep them.

How can we start creating every profile so that it is always perpendicular to the rail curve?

We want to eventually use this same definition with other different rail curves and also change the location of each profile along the curve:

Bench 1: profile 1 - profile 2 - profile 3

Bench 2: profile 2 - profile 1 - profile 3

etc.

Hope this is clear and THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!!

If you have not had any luck as yet with finding out how to do it, have a look at using the Perp Frames Component to define where you want to orient the section on the curve then either make your sections using the Perp frames as a base plane or what create them flat and use a Orient Component to Place them on the Perp Frames.

Hope this is some help
