Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I’m cracking my head trying to replicate the growing sequence on this image that someone gave me.

I know everything starts with a line that gets a slight tangential rotation then replicates it self  into two and then again into two. But I’m quite new with this and I don’t now how to make it into 3D.

Any suggestions on how to begin?

Classic fractal (or recursive to be accurate) stuff:.

thanks, quite helpful!!

thanks again

I assume that the "quite helpful" part means that you are familiar with code.

If so get the attached that is a classic (relatively simple) recursion example on "tree like" graphs.

Note: this is NOT a binary (a far less complex case) tree example. Therefor yields more "realistic" results.

Get this as well that does similar things.

Boring:

Less so

NOTE: DO NOT take liberties with variables regarding generations > you may end up with a gazillion lines that could strangle your machine (that's the danger with recursion).
