algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I exported the igs (which is based on NURBS) file into another software.

But it appeared some surface were fllipped; that is, the surfaces were inside out.

Why did my file have some flipped surface ?

I have no idea...

Learn this in Rhino. Use Analyze > Direction which lets you see the surface directions and also flip them or reverse the U and V directions of the NURBS math. Little white and colored arrows will appear, showing surface direction and UV directions. First explode any polysurfaces, to access the detailed command options that won't work on whole polysurfaces. Rhino also shades surfaces differently, enough to see, depending on normal direction, so an exploded polysurface (or mesh faces) will be visibly different tone if their normals are not the same as their neighbors.
