Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi everyone, trying to model a tower with "cut-out" in its facade i am stuck with a stupid problem. the brought in geometrie (the spheres, managed in one geometrie param) are not accepted as one "grouped/merged/joined" object... only the first selected sphere ist trimmed from my curves...? can anyone please help - what i like to do is cutting all of those spheres out of the extruded line segments at once...

thx in advance

You could try referencing the spheres separately and plug them all to the Brep input. Works for me.
Edit: Hm, I might not have a too similar case here... could you upload your definition, I'd like to try:)
Hi pieter, thx... Does it really work for you? I tried this before but it was moreless the Same result...
Maybe i should try again, Greetings w
I succesfully trimmed a simpel row of straight lines with brought in spheres, but please upload your definition, I'd like to try it.
I will when i am back in my Computer... This is from my mobile ;-)
Thx for the effort
Greetings w

hey pieter, took some time... i did try your advice (again) but it still is not working properly...

i added the file if you d like to have a look - thx

Its a path problem, you have got after the merge two {0;0} paths...I am right on a solution and post it soon
and you have to distinguish between -trim with brep- and -trim with breps-

here you go

HEY, Dackezucht, me IDIOT! thx - sure it was just the wrong component i d jused... It should have been the trim with MULTIPLE breps...

But the flatten thing you mentioned is not really a point (in my understanding) - if you delete it the result stays the same... the explode tree and the merge comp should manage all matching differences what they do...

but many thx for all your guys help!

Dedackelzucht already got it working Weltraum, you needed the 'Trim with Breps' component. I got that too, but unlike Dedackelzucht I didn't have any problem with the paths. I found that they are even allowed to be in the same path. The Spheres can be brought in at once by 'Set Multiple Geometries'.
Dedackelzucht, could you explain to us why you saw the need to adjust the paths please?

:-) I am a oldschool pathmeneager, i like clean :-)

You are rigth there is no need for that at this point

Best Regards

It's not supposed to. Grouping is only useful for transform operations. I have yet to decide whether I can maintain group information when you plug them into components that expect to get specific geometry.
