Grid from closed curve

Hi, to everybody.. 

I need to create a grid (points ans segments) into a free-form closed curve... 

I try to use bounding box, and into the range of that I hoped to find a family of line with contour(ex) tool... but I get a strange think... I centered the figure with 0,0,0 point it works correctly otherwise i creates only some line... if I put figure far away no line will be create... 

Do you know way?
