Grasshopper Solution Counter or Galapagos Generation # output

Hi All,

I'm currently trying to use Finches: Local Code to export generations of galapagos solutions.

I can use the fitness value(rounded to only a few digits to reduce the number of files it will create) to define the output file name, but this will give me only a linear progress of solutions. I'd rather define the output file name by the number of generations elapsed to get a truer sense of the algorithm's path to the final solution.

Is there a way to count the number of solutions grasshopper has calculated after a certain point? (an odometer of sorts)  Ideally an export from Galapagos would be preferred, but I imagine that's a WIP.

EDIT: Also it will save over earlier genomes with the same fitness value. This is not really that bad as I just need a sampling of solutions, but its not very clean.

EDIT 2: I suppose the time stamps on the files will give me some indication of when the genome occurred.
