Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Facing a strange problem for a while now.

Some - but not all- of the GH-settings are reset, everytime I restart Rhino or UnloadGrasshopper / LoadGrasshopper.

This is the status of the settings:

Fonts - saved

Interface - saved

Palette - saved

Viewport - reset

Widgets - partly saved, but reseting:

                - Docking Corner and Number of Suggestions from Markov

                - Zooming widgets percentage

Files - saved

Solver - reset

Are the Settings saved in different locations? Why are some lost, others not?

I am using latest RH5, GH0.9.0006 - Win7, 64bit with admistrator privileges.

This is not a 0.9x specific problem.

P.S.: Maybe an answer to this could also lead me to solving the everlasting RibbonLayout-challenge.

Solver Enable/Disable isn't a setting which is persisted. Widget Zooming is indeed a bug, looking into the rest.

Fixed Solver Undo setting, Widget Zoom setting & Markov settings.

I cannot repeat the 'Default Template Materials' settings problem, it sticks here. Note that the 'Document Materials' are not global settings, they apply to each individual loaded document. Once a document has been created it will have its own Material settings.

Got it. Here is the DefaultMaterial-Bug:

Assigned the Default Template Materials by drag´n´droping the current Document Materials, because I wanted to use predefined colors.

If you do like this,  it will show up right but already loose the information after closing the Settings-window.

I copy that setting the color manually now works fine.

Ah yes indeed. Drag+Drop changes are not recorded at all, I'll fix that too. Thanks for reporting it.

Hi David,

I was wondering if you might add "Show Canvas Toolbar" to the Grasshopper settings which can be set persistently. Also "Message Balloons" do not seem work persistently.

This is really a minor issue, but it does affect my everyday experience. I prefer having pretty much all GUI elements turned off and instead use keyboard shortcuts combined with the "double-click canvas search". So having to turn off these GUI items manually every time I launch Grasshopper is becoming a bit tedious :)

Best,

Anders
