Well, Mirco's project is quite complex on many aspects, including the computational design core, for which a complex software infrastructure was used (including Rhino+Grasshopper with custom designed components, Cinema4D & Oasys GSA, with multiple steps and feedbacks among them). There are several things in it: a densification/rarefaction logic to form multi-performative membranes such as the cactus skeleton (which is both a structure and a distribution system), a vision of ecology which includes cars (and their drivers) as a mechanical specie in the ecosystem, photocatalytic materials and their coupling with morphogenetic processes, iterative feedbacks to get to an efficient result.
If you are a beginner in generative digital strategies and tools maybe you can try as a first thing to grasp the logic and strategies on which the project is based (cactus skeletons and densification/rarefaction of fibers) and then start to implement them on a basic level meanwhile you get acquainted with the interaction with your tools.
Also, it is the result of more than one year of trials, errors, lots of discarded previous designs; a very big effort that cannot be replicated in a short time. Although there is a lot of online materials and tutorials out there, you won't find a step-by-step tutorial to get this done.
My advice is that yes, ambitious goals are a good thing but start simple and, while doing a lot of tutorials is good as a training practice, try to experience on your own and look for a strategy to guide at least your first steps and experiments. Try to keep it tight and, although it's a strong temptation, don't give up when you get stuck.

Thank you very much for your explanaition, I see, it has been a lot of work!really impressive! Though, I'd like to ask you if you maybe have a grasshopper definition( for ex. one of your starting points in the surface design) you could share with me? On the internet I stumbled over this picture... I really like the surface, unfortunately it looks also quite complex, but maybe 'easier' than the one I posted before....
Well, thank you for everything you ve told me so far, I'll go on trying to get it :)
