Grasshopper List order to Rhino/illustrator Object Order

When objects are baked from grasshopper is the list order retained in rhino, and if so, in what form? I am trying to export baked objects into illustrator, and would like to be able to sort curves by distance in grasshopper, and then have them appear in illustrator as paths in the same order.

Thanks for any help!

Well, the order of data inside Grasshopper is a result of the order in which data is created. Whereas the order of components is decided by the draw order. You can Ctrl+B or Ctrl+F a component to move it up or down the list (note that the change won't take effect until you recompute the solution).

Draw order in Rhino is entirely different. Being a 3D application, there's no core concept for draw order. Objects closer to the camera are on top. However we do have some ad-hoc draw order functionality, but I have no idea how that works or how to set it up programmatically.

Its not exactly draw order- I assume it is something closer to an object ID that gets translated into an order in the export process. From what I can tell, when rhino exports to illustrator it places objects in the order they were drawn, and if they are baked from grasshopper they are drawn in order of the list they came from. Below, 1,2, and 3 were drawn in numerical order on the left, then I put the curves into grasshopper, sorted by area, and baked to get 2,1,3 on the right. Hopefully this works for more complicated scenarios as well.
