Hi Eva,

there's a never-ending stream of problems with Virtual machines such as Parallels and VMWare. McNeel's official policy is that we do not support these platforms at all, as -even when installation is successful- the experience of our software is simply dreadful: http://wiki.mcneel.com/rhino/virtualmachines

Having said that, I have not seen that particular error before and I have no idea what could be causing it or how it could be fixed. The good news is that Grasshopper doesn't in fact need an installer, as long as you put all the files on your disk somewhere and drag+drop the GrasshopperPlugin.rhp file into Rhino it should work just as well. Maybe someone here is willing to get you a copy of their own Plug-ins\Grasshopper folder as a zip file... I'd upload it myself, but my own version of Grasshopper is an internal work in progress not suitable for release.
