Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Grasshopper 0.6.0018 is now available for download.
This will be the last release for a while, I'll be at Siggraph all next week and in the Seattle office after August 20th. I will not be reachable before then.

This release features a crash bug fix reported by Daniel regarding null entries in Expression editors. It also has a SimplifyCurve component and the first stab at a timer object. The timer object UI is still a bit cluncky, please read the help-topic before using it.

I can't open some file create in preview version cause contain some clustering compounent.
I think cluster is really help to organis some compounent and makes canvas clear. please bring it back.
I think the intention is to rewrite the clustering. I opened some files which had clusters, and the clustered components were just exploded...everything worked fine though...
Indeed, the clusters themselves will be missing, but the contents should remain unscathed. If this is not the case, I need the file.

Clusters will be rewritten, but I had to clean up the core to do so and the current implementation of clusters was horrible... really, really foul. I had to rip it out by the roots before I could even attempt to restructure the kernel.

I know it's annoying they went missing, but hopefully it won't take too long to put them back.
The current (or recently abandoned) clustering implementation was something that David didn't seam entirely happy with. He essentially described it as just a display trick that was simply hiding some components and showing the cluster itself, and that they were potentially troublesome behind the scenes. I believe there was a discussion from a while back (definitely on the old site, although it might have been via email) where David talked a little bit about some of the improvements he was looking to make on clusters. Things like more robust ways of solving clusters in regards to how they would be solved within the main definition and making clusters more extensible. Long story short, David does have some bigger plans for clusters, its just a matter of time.
Thanks David! Have a nice trip!
Well done and by the way only my mother calls me Daniel!
Thank you David!
Hi David,
It seems in some cases the BrepTrim component still doesn't work properly in this new release.
I tried to trim the green brep with the red tube. However, the result was not what I wanted.

I have attached the denfination below.

Hallo Daniel,

I just attached a file. But im also not very happy about it.

Give me a look of your finished version after.

Hi Daniel,

you're performing boolean operations on non-closed solids. Thus, you have to make sure that your normals are pointing in the right direction. In this particular case, the cylinder input for the BrepSplit is inverted. If you flip or cap it, the definition will work as expected.

it worked in revision 17, but the preview button does not seem to work in revision 18.
