The next release of Grasshopper is now available for download.
You need Rhino4 SR9 or a recent Rhino5 Beta to run Grasshopper.
Note that you need the most recent Microsoft Runtimes to be able to run Grasshopper. You can download the latest runtimes from the Microsoft Website and be sure to get the 32-bit ones (vcredist_x86.EXE).
This release features fairly minor fixes and updates, to wit:

"why does my Grasshopper/rhino crashes when I want to open the preferences."
I don't know. Is there an error message before the crash?
"And I can not copy and past with shortcuts in Grasshopper anymore."
Several menu shortcut problems have been reported. Please check whether you can still copy paste via the menu directly. If it turns out only the shortcuts don't work, please follow the instructions on this page: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/menu-shortcut-bug

Hi,
Did something change with the keyboard shortcut for closing a file functions?
It often doesn't work, and then i can go into the preferences menu and set explicity Ctrl+W for close (it includes the currently open file name) and then it seems to work also for other files after that...
isn't there a default shortcut to close the current file?
thanks
Hi David,
I'm using Rhino 4.0 SR2 ... and I need Grasshopper for this version please..
Thanks very much
Why don't you upgrade to a newer Service Release of Rhino and benefit from the vast quantities of improvements and capabilities added since then? I don't even think Grasshopper existed when SR2 was around.
EDIT: I just checked and the First copy of Explicit History (Grasshopper as it was known) that I have was release on January 31 2008 and SR3 was release on 22 February 2008.
So here you are. Enjoy the retro experience if you still need it. Explicit History Download Jan 31, 2008. This file comes with no support and lots and lots of unanswerable questions.
Thanks Danny,
Actually I tried to upgrade it to Rhino 4.0 RS9 but you know it requires to enter the KEY and I really don't know how to find that KEY... If you help me I'd be grateful.
Does this one "ExplicitHistory_Jan31_2008.zip," work on RS2 ??
appreciate your valuable replay mate.
Its the 24 character/number code you entered when you installed the software. You can find it on the End User License Agreement booklet that was inside the case the disc came in. Its usually highlighted in yellow. Or talk to your IT people if your part of a larger organisation.
Without this I cannot be of more assistance as you would need to approach McNeel to get a replacement.
There is probably a much later version of Grasshopper that would work for you but unfortunately with out knowing I cannot say which one and don't want to send you every version there is until we get a match.
It would be much better all round if your were able to get the latest SR
Ok, I see, I also have Rhinoceros 4.0 SR8 and I've got the Grasshopper for SR8... Thank you

Hi Viviana,
If you can post a screen shot of the error message it might help to point you towards a solution.
