Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I have some troubles with the gradient component. If you double click on the gradient component it opens the gradient editor to edit the colors or add some. The thing is if you click on a color (the small circle) it opens the window to edit the color/parameter etc. on the left but as soon as you release your mouse click to go to that window to edit the some settings the window disappears...

Does anyone else have this?

Same for me. Cannot select permanently color picker circle inside the editor. But it somehow works if you open the gradient editor by double-clicking directly on color picker circle (not anywhere else in the area of component).

Ah yes thanks Tomasz, that's a neat work around.

just noting, that this problem is still present in 0.9.0056.

it is right that directly clicking on a gradient control-knob brings up the dialog for changing colors, but as soon as the slider is moved the controls disappear again.

Have anybody solved this problem already?)

Bump. Still having the same problem. Any fixes? Is this on a known buglist?

It's on the known bug-list, but since it's not a crash or IO bug it is not a must-fix bug for GH1. If we have time and the fix isn't too difficult we may get around to it but the plan is to fix only very serious bugs and then start developing GH2 full-time.

Not sure if anyone has figured out the way to fix this yet but I just started using hte gradient component and was having the same problem and didn't find a solution on the net yet but I did figure out how to use it so I figured I'd post my solution for this problem here so future people can find it.

If you click on your gradient component so that its highlighted click on the 'Dot/circle' you'd like to change and double click on it. the gradient editor should now open allowing you to change that dot. Do not click on any of the other dots while in that editor or else you'll go back to having the window disappear right away. When you want to change the next dot color click off the editor and repeat the step.

This doesn't work for me.  I can't figure out any way to make the gradient component work.

Made a video on this for everyone. Hopefully it better explains it and helps. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Another option is to right-click on the dot, which allows you to change the color without opening the editor.
