Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello world,

(new to Grasshopper, please help!)

I would like to be able to do the following, hoping that you can help!

1. Bring google maps snapshot (satellite view) into Rhino TO SCALE

2. Draw a rectangle over the google maps snapshot

3. Have the dimensions of the rectangle automatically show up in Grasshopper

See attached diagram of how i would like it to work.

Any input on how to do the above three things would be very much appreciated!!!

Best,

Peter

SketchUp Pro has always imported Google Earth terrain/geography well, and Rhino opens SketchUp files so it's easy to have it in Grasshopper from there.  Alignment with boundaries is a whole different matter.  I've had very good results scaling terrain vertically with Grasshopper to exaggerate highs and lows on a big lot.
