algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am planning to go to grad school to get Master of Science in Architecture with an emphasis in computational design methods.  I have a Bachelor of Architecture.  I am wanting to go Europe where it seems algorithmic design is more welcome.  I am considering the AA in London, Bartlet in London, and Stuttgart.  Are there other English speaking schools in Europe at a very high level in computational design methods? Which schools are best?

Thanks for any suggestions or advise.

maybe i was misunderstood; i didn't say its boring in terms of arch. or compuational design - i meant that its really boring in terms of paaaaarty! (this is of course also subjective and depends on you party habits) :-D

Yeah, yeah we got it - you are a salsa fan. Not many salsa clubs in Stuttgart, right?
:)

thats the point. also in terms of bachata und merengue ist quite poor. :-D

I'd just like to support some of the skepticism found in this thread over higher education. Many economists consider it the next big bubble.

I found this talk interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpk_u_VmPD4

He's mainly saying what everyone really thinks (at least some of us) but is too politically incorrect to say out loud.

he vicente,

why do americans chew gum while talking?

and then talk so fast? terrible. ;)

maybe less depression and more reflection?

He talks fast but I find the accent easy to understand.

Plus someone just expounding unambigous, to the point, logical arguments backed with facts is a good break from the typical design literature.

Vicente,

I share this viewpoint as well.  Some institutions will race to retrofit models that work with new economies, some will succeed (The MITs, the ones offering something very unique), but the academic model as we know it will collapse...

Movie with the same issue about colleges in USA and it's fees:

Be careful with these type of conspiracy style documentaries. This one is done by the National Inflation Association, related to Jonathan Lebed who is infamous for fraudulent manipulation of stocks using the "pump and dump" method.

They use these documentaries as bait to attract paranoid minded people to their website and use them for their pump and dump schemes.

That doesn't mean everything in the documentary is false. Some of their sources are probably reliable, some others probably belong on the tinfoil hat wearing category.

Thank you for the advice Vicente.

hi luis,

can you say about it more in detail?

i would like to know why the MIT "models" are economically successful, and what are their "models"?

and why collapse the academic models what you know?

it would be nice to get this information from you.

You probably already know it. Somewhat related I think. http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity....
