gHowl spreadsheet IN component problem

Hi all,

My first post here, hope to find some help on the gHowl spreadsheet IN component. It doesn't seem to be able to get the file which I'm referring to (see screenshot).

'Could not load file or assembly 'cli_urtypes ... etc.''

The path is set to the correct location of the xls file.

I'm using Rhino4 SR8, GH 0.8.0010, windows 7, Excel 2007.

Would be very nice if someone could point me in the right direction.

Hello Joost,

Do you have OpenOffice installed? The spreadsheet components use the Open Office functions to deal with spreadsheets. Reading and writing to Excel is no problem, only that you need Open Office installed to make these components work. I would recommend installing the English(US) version.

Thanks Luis,

Installing OpenOffice enables me to read and write an .ods and .csv files. Xls files however still seem impossible to read and write.

I would like to know if you solved your problem. I'm having exactly the same. The spreadsheet IN component doesn't recognize the original file. First I tried a .xls file, then a .ods file. But it still turned red. I have OppenOffice installed, and also installed the file (OpenXMLSDKv2.msi) from the Dependencies folder from gHowl .zip file.
I'm missing something here.

I would appreciate some help.
