Hi everyone,

I have a big problem, The file that I have been working in weeks cannot run. At the error panel it says : Too many bayt instead of 7 bit in coding Int32. Source: mscorlib

I've narrowed the problem down to an attempt to read text from persistent data in the object with index 666 (how's that for appropriate?). I haven't figured out yet why it is happening or how to salvage the rest of the file, but when I know more I'll let you know here.

Further, but not good, news; the problem is with reading a specific string which marks the reference-id of Surface data #34 inside a parameter called ADEN which has 60 surfaces internalised. However despite having found the exact location where it went wrong, I'm not at all sure I can recover the file. For one it seems the file data stops suspiciously soon after the fault, which is weird because we're only supposed to be 666 objects into a 1200+ object document, and it's also entirely unclear how to proceed reading the data after the fault.

Normally this is explained by some IO error (faulty disk, corrupt download/email transfer, USB stick pulled from computer during file write, ...) but in this case the problem must be something else entirely as the data can be correctly decompressed, meaning the file was saved in its entirety. Somehow the file data got broken while still in active memory.

Something to try is to see if a recent, readable version of the file exists in the autosave directory. Go into File -> Preferences, select the FILES category and click on the SHOW button to go to the autosave folder. In here there should be a bunch of files with weird names. Try to locate the one with the date/size that might match the file you're having problems with. Copy it to some safe location, and see if you can open it from there.

Thank you David. Appriciate your interest.

Its okay to clear all container components (surface or breps) We started to write again the all code but it will take lots of time. It will be great if we see the code although it dont run
