GH Definitions for components:

Hello every one, I am fairly new to GH and I've been going through the primer as well as reading 'Parametric Architecture with Grasshopper' (Which is an amazing book by the way). But I was wondering if there was a page out there that had the most used components of grasshopper and a quick visual or definition explaining the usage of them.

In my opinion the best way to learn is open Grasshopper and just try everything out and look at the tooltips etc. I think there is no "most used" components because it really depends on what you are doing, and in general they are all equally important.

I agree with Ching, the other thing I would like to add is that a good strategy to learn after you have looked into the interface and buttons is to map the process on how the model is to be made and define what parameters you want to manipulate to generate flexibility or variation. For example, a simple surface can be defined as a series of sections as curves, the curves could be described as a series of points ect. Break the problem down into small chunks and it becomes more digestible. I have recently been tutoring thesis undergrad students who are beginners and have found that understanding process is key to understanding how to setup a definition.

Thank you, I will use that process of logic when I'm trying to work in GH. I guess since I am new I get overwhelmed by how many components there actually is and forget what to use, even when it is something simple as a "series" component but practice makes perfect!

As Anirudh says it depend on the task, go about the problem using what you need, don't worry about the abundance of components, just because they are there doesn't mean you need them all.

But, not knowing any components complicates the preparation of the script, or load.This is especially true of section "SETS". I advise you to pay attention to this section. sorry for my english ))
