Getting numbers from Kangaroo

Hi,

Is it possible to get max. displacement figures out of the Kangaroo engine in Grasshopper? I want to optimise a structure using Galapagos and Kangaroo. I know this was possible in Karamba but unfortunately this plug-in no longer functions with recent builds of Grasshopper.

Hi Matt,

I'm sure Daniel or someone else will advise about Kangaroo, but if you have access to Oasys GSA, I have been working on developing access to the GSA solver for this type of assessment.

It's still early days, but if people are interested in starting to test it, I'd appreciate all feedback. I've uploaded the grasshopper definition to my blog, http://geometrygym.blogspot.com

The nice thing about using a commercial solver such as GSA is that you can nominate all sorts of attributes including loads and structural elements and relationships. Anyone with particular requests for components please send them through.

Great thanks Jon, I'll take a look at that. I currently use your StructDraw plugin and it's great. I'll try and get hold of GSA and see how that goes. Keep up the good work!
