Getting Closed Curves from Two Intersecting Curves

Is there a simple, elegant way that _always_ works to get the closed curve in a situation like this? I mean, without choosing manually from [Shatter]'s result before using [Join (Curves)].

Don't know about _always_ working, but this should work for any 2 curves that intersect at only 2 points

Not sure if you still want, but input as many curves as you want and it outputs closed curves (does not recognize self-intersections) just subcurve+srfsplit

sounds like you are looking for the Curve Boolean...
can you provide some more situations that should work?
Are the always just two curves, are there always just two intersections (per curve)?
