Getting a result out of a data grid

Hi, I have a problem and can't figure how to solve it.

I have a data grid such as the one on the image.

 I am trying to get a result introducing the row and the column value.

If I introduce "b" for the column and "3" for the row I shold get "5".

My problem is that, if I put the grid of values (only the white part) as a matrix in grasshopper, I can't find a way to get the result out of it.

But a Matrix is the "alter ego" of a single dimension DataTree (where [usually] rows = branches and columns = items).
