Geometric shpere/blob through a point cloud

Hello,

I have a collection of points in 3D space around a vertical line that is the axis.

I want to create a geometric surface that will "cover" this cloud through the points, like the shape of an egg or a distorted sphere, but for now I can't find a way that will do that.

Loft, interpolate, etc. etc. all give me surfaces that "run through" these points one by one, not look at them as a "boundary" that defines some closed shape.

Help would be appreciated.
