Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys, just letting you know we've created version 2 of Genoform, now with its own grasshopper components.

We've created two new sliders that work with Genoform.

Jump over to www.genoform.com to download the software and the component file.

now the installation worked and while I was looking forward to use gf i ran into the same message you mentioned before.

Maybe I´m just stupid, but i would really appreciate if you tell me if you fixed it (and how)

I got the file from www.genoform.com right after your post which should be the lated version i think.

thanks for your effort

Hi Jeffery,

sorry that I didn't add the comment directly as a reply on your question but somehow the reply button doesn't work for me on this discussion.
I downloaded Genoform 2.0.0.2 from this link (http://genoform.com/software/) after I registert on the Genoform.com website.
Did you also installed the Visual Basic Package 10?
I think this you need to install before you install genoform.
Hope this helps.

Best,
Martin.

thank you for your quick response. I made sure that i have the latest versions of gf and VBP (10), I tried my own definitions, i tried the examples, saving under different names and folders but nothing changed. The message appears by starting genoform.

Only the vase examle works till want to generate, then the same message... maybe that means nothing. I would try to come along by myself, but i got no idea how.

thanks anyway

Hi Jeffery,

I'm at the moment on a trip in Madrid because of a workshop, but on sunnday I'm back, so will have a look if I can find or think on something else that would help you.

Does this work for you?

Best,

Martin.

That would be great. I´ll keep on searching too and keep in touch.

I`m very very thankful for your help and everything that maybe will solve my problem.

oh... and a nice time in madrid. hope you`re enjoying it

thanks

Sorry for bothering you guys, but i really want this to work.

So I`m going for a last try and hope someone can help me.

I still got the message mentioned before when starting genoform.

See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

I have forwarded this to our software engineer, I'll let you know when he responds.

Hope this is sorted.

sadly i have to say no. I really tried to solve the problem but i had to give up `cause i had no further ideas.

Can you please let me know the CAD package (Solidworks ?) version number and it is an educational version ? and the exact error message that you are getting.

Genoform can’t find the file “C:\Users\tonaldo\Desktop\rhino plugin\genoform_neu\Sample Models\Grasshopper\Pavilion_pic\Pavilion_0.jpg”

It should be created by the grasshopper component on startup of Genoform from memory, but it either hasn’t created the file or Genoform doesn’t have access to the file for some reason (possibly permissions?).

They should check the file at the specified path exists.
If it doesnt then it obviously wasn’t created – possibly due to grasshopper not having permissions to the directory. Maybe try running rhino as administrator if the option is available (right click rhino icon>run as administrator).
If the file exists, then genoform can’t access it, once again probably due to permissions. Likewise running Genoform it as administrator may fix this.

If the issue persists pls let me know.

Also please post within the genoform group issues related to genoform.
