Generating Wavescript upon example

I am pretty new to Grasshopper. In the course of the project I came to these form finding processes of two students in Vienna:

From your expertise, is this a derivative of a wavescript definition like sinewave or similar, or is there much more work behind it. If someone is able to generate a definition similar to this one, that one could use as a basis for further experiments, I would be really grateful.
