algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Generating internal pattern

Hi guys, i need some help creating something like this in 2d or even 3d. Basically it seems like theres three layers and the cells revolve around each layers. Could anyone show me some guideline or tutorial to make these forms ultimately for 3d printing
