Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

So... I have started this, and I am sure there is a better way to achieve what I would like. Looking for the best way to take the original parallelogram and generate 10 or more while rotating each new parallelogram x amount. This is step one. I need a little help trouble shooting. Any ideas?

Hi Matthew,

Here is a more simpler approach to your definition:

If I understood you correctly, the rotation point you would like to take is {0,0,0} for all surfaces?
If not, try changing some of the options from the Value list, to see which one suits you the best.

Thank you,

I will work with this tomorrow and see what can be tweaked. I think the rotation around the (0,0,0) is a side effect of the redundancy in the definition. Ideally the rotation would happen locally with the individual objects.  All of which being slightly different than the previous object.

Hey Matthew,

If you want to rotate the surfaces around a point that moves with the surface you could use this definition. Good luck with your definition.

Thank you RdG,

I am understanding the basic moves in writing definitions, but when it comes to the fine details that make them run smooth I get a little fuzzy. I think the next step is to offset geometry in z with another local rotation and then loft in to new shape.
