algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello,
I am new to grasshopper and I am trying to figure out the best way to generate an amorphous cylinder from approximately 100 data entries.
Is it better to start with a single cylinder and modify it, or 100 cylinders and stitch them together vertically? Or should I just create a point field with my data then define the surface?
I would like to come up with a solution that is easy to edit, as I would like to generate multiple models with the same default parameters.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are those data entries radii? How about bunch of circles and a loft?
Yes, the data entries will correspond to the radii, and the circles with the loft command, is a beautifully simple solution.
I went through the lists and data matching tutorial ( http://www.i-m-a-d-e.org/fabrication/?p=543 ) and got some good ideas, it is just very slow going at the start.
I guess the only thing I'm having trouble figuring out right now is once I define all of my radii, I don't know how to have grasshopper distribute the curves on the Z axis.
Thanks again, I think I'm on the right track.
Most flexible would be to define a curve that is the axis of your cylinder. Create PerpFrames from the curve and create the circles on the frames. This way you don't even have to worry about z-Axis.
The curve could either come from Rhino or be created in GH.
