Generate Shell or Surface from Curves (Paths from Processing)

Hi All,

I am working with Swarm Agents in Processing and exporting the paths into Rhino. My question is regarding the post-processing of the agent paths once they have been transferred from Processing into Rhino/ Grasshopper. I am not quite sure what is the best way to generate a shell or geometry based on the swarm paths.

My swarm paths seem to be creating a clear shell outline but I am not sure how to literally translate this into a surface. I am experimenting with dividing the curves into points and using those with the Delauney mesh component (and then trying to smooth the resultant surface) but it is not quite at the level of output I need.

I would be looking for some method that produces output similar to the Cliff House or National Art Museum of China projects by Kokkugia as seen here: http://www.robertstuart-smith.com/filter/projects.

I have attached some screenshots of the agent paths I am currently working
with. Any advice or help you have to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Arjun,

did u use Ghowl for communicating from processing directly or did u use any other

different method to get your swarm paths in GH?

Before I was using a method I developed of exporting points along the lines to .txt files and then using those to recreate the paths in Grasshopper, but I am now using a Processing exporting library to export the paths from processing directly into a.dxf file and opening it in Rhino.

I would look into weaverbird, I think I have a "shrink wrap" deff somewhere that I could share.

I am only very new to Processing and also having trouble getting the script and communication right betwen to the two. Any chance you could send through an example file? everything I have worked with so far has turned out the be pretty useless.

PS

At work right now, but I'll try and upload one after I get off.
