Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I recently stumbled upon Geco and after downloaded it I placed the files in the component folder as asked, but when i ran grasshopper I get a loading error dialog box.

Does anyone know a solution to this?

Thank you

Hi Patrick,

to install Geco you just need to run the exe-file, you don't need to place anything in the components folder. The file you can find here maybe you need to sign in the group.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Martin.

Hey thanks Martin!

I figured out my problem, I downloaded an older version of geco there for it wouldn't run but I got it working now!

Ok now that I have it running I wanted to take my file and see how my object reacts with sunlight and the possible shadows I can create, I was able to take an existing object and turn it into mesh, then the mesh I seen was transported to ecotect but I cant figure out how to real time move it in ecotect, also when i clicked the visual tab to see it in their nothing would appear other than a white screen.

Sorry for these questions I'm new to GH.

Hi Patrick,

please take a look on our example files in the geco group.

Also to be aware about geco question please post them also at http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/geco. It is much easier for us.

About your question.

you have to move your object in grasshopper and it will get updated in ecotect. For shadow-studies you can use our Shadow-component which creates the shadow inside rhino

Hi Patrick,

sorry, I'm at the moment on a workshop in Madrid, so everything is very bussy.

On sunnday I will be back, but maybe up to there you will find some help in the geco-groupe that to] posted.

Best,

Martin.
