algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey there
I've set up a test with Galapagos optimizing an arrangement of 3 blocks (scaling and moving with slider values) for a high area of horizontal surfaces. everything works fine but i stuck with my next step. i want to bake 100 solutions to make an array of 10 by 10 solutions (to render). is there a way to bake several solutions? (like 100 best? 100 random ones? 100 from different branches? ...) would be very helpful.
ps. while working on Rhino4 i cannot use octopus at the moment

update: i installed rh5 evaluate version to test the idea with octopus. it works to bake several different solutions to rhino but still i have to bake them manually. this cannot be the best way to do it while working in a computational design environment right? is there a way to achieve an array of 10 x 10 (or less or more) solutions with galapagos or octopus or ..?
Look into lunchbox and slingshot.
I've never used them myself, but I know they might be of help.
thx! so basically the idea is to setup a mysql server and to export the "states" of the genomes to a database.. so i can later reproduce all the states to different instances of the grasshopper def?
hi Phil
I want to use galapagos to optimize area and volumes, you can upload your system you propose, I'm new to this and could upload it is very interesting to learn what components you use, thanks greetings!

you can connect a bake geometry (lunchbox) to your grouped geometry you want to show. After finishing the algorithm you can import all of them in a brep and then orient them from 0,0,0 for example to divided surface planes (the sheet you want to orient in!)
That's what I do with my work
Hi Mohammad,
would you mind explaining your process of baking the genomes?
Would still need slingshot and a SQL-server, or do you have another method?
Thank you very much!
