Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Daniel/All,

I am having issue on my university's computers using custom particles.

Whenever I try to set up a free particle system kangaroo fails and returns the 'Index was out of range... ect.' message.

Ive tried for a couple hours to figure out why but I just cant, running my laptop side by side replicating every action on both still results in my laptop working and uni comp returning the error even in the simplist operations (see attached)

I have tried other forces and they seem to be operational, it is only free particle that is not working. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Hi Jonathan,

0.085 is three releases ago - Can you update Grasshopper/Kangaroo to the latest versions?

This was a bug in a previous version(where particles were not being initialized) which has since been fixed.

If you are not able to install software on the university machines, a possible workaround would be to apply a unary force to all particles with a vector of (0,0,0) just to ensure that they get properly initialized.

Hope that helps,

Daniel

Thanks so much, Ive sent a email to tech asking them to update. In the mean time Ill use the unary fourse work around.
