Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi everyone,

i'm trying to create a frame around a corner that is made of 2 planar surfaces.

i have been trying to make it work so that i dont have to do each part seperatly, that is why im using grasshopper for this, but also because trying to do it with rhino commands takes alot of effort and time.

in the image you can see what im trying to do (in red)  with the corner panels in grey.

so far i was unable to make it work for me i tried using different approaches but no success.... if anyone has any other ideas or solutions please let me know

attacheed are the GH and rhino files

thanks'

Hi Niv,

Interesting Problem.

Here is my solution:

1) Find the L curve of the Piece

2) Create the Floor Plate

3) "Thicken" the Lower Plate

4) Extrude Both internal and external Volumes

5) Subtract one from t'other

This is actually much simpler.

Same theory slightly different order

1) Find the L curve of the Piece

4) "Thicken" the L curve

3) Create the Floor Plates

4) Extrude Both internal and external Volumes

5) Subtract one from t'other

This approach makes nicer Baked Geometry
