Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hopefully, there will be someone who could tell or send me a proper font to use as labels for cnc...
i have read about some of them, but really like this
so i have done some fonts really simple, straight and hopefully fast.
then i had a look at the script, but i am terrible with vb.
i would love to be able to adapt  this script into grasshopper.

the other way would be creating a font with those blocks and install it in the system
but i like spending time at vb... (yes I need a teacher, I am not learning just by staring at code)

thank you all

You can try this. It works with an older version of GH and may not work with the latest and greatest...

first, thank you.
what i am looking for is more like in the picture. really dont know if that would work faster on a cnc router...its just a feeling, maybe i am wrong.
would be?
i guess i can create a new font for that...i got a program, but not sure if i am doing single lines...maybe this new font and the link you sent me could work together...
thanks

I don't really have any statistics for you, but my only goal was to generate a single line font within GH (instead of outlined text). Intuitively this is much faster for milling.

You seem to be trying to create an optimized custom single line font with only straight lines. Is this faster than a font with curves? Probably a little faster...

the two factors that would affect the milling time would be, more than anything, the total length of line, and second (depending on the mill path generation method), the number of sharp turns. There would probably be very little difference between curved and orthogonal lines of the same length, but it might be a teeny bit faster on a line of the same length with no sharp turns.
there's been a few threads on this topic. Mostly focusing on single stroke fonts (because they save tons of time on the router/laser cutter). I personally like this solution the best:

Though I haven't tried Taz's script yet so it might be better.
wwooooo. thank you so much!
