algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Fitting a best curve fit through a planar point cloud set

From a scanning process, I have been able to extract a set of points lying on a plane in this case the xz plane.  Because they were obtained from a scanning process, the points have a small amount of scatter.  I need to create a best fit spline through these points.  Can anyone advise how to do this please.

Can you post the Points (an example set will do) to play with?

Will post something tomorrow. Your reply to my matrix question would probably do the job of doing a least square fitting to the points.
