algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello,
As the title states, this is my first real go at grasshopper. I've had a short introduction course in school about this plugin but nothing major or complicated.
What am I trying to do?
Well I am trying to build a vault, but the shape of the vault comes from an other plugin called: RhinoVault. It gives me a mesh of the vault it comes up with. As I want to actually build that vault, I was wondering if I could overlay the mesh with the shape of a brick and let grasshopper determine the best possible pattern, or let me atleast try some other patterns easily.
I have been trying to load the mesh into grasshopper and it gives me a few problems right of the bat. It consists out of serveral surfaces, so when I try to devide the surface, it divides them all seperatly, wich is not what I wanted.
I have been searching for a solution for a while now, but I'm very new to grasshopper and most of the time I'm not even sure what I should search for. So hence this discussion.
I hope that someone wants to help me out, by pointing me in the right direction.
I added a few pics and a file (dont know if the file will show anything, if so, I seperated the components that the plugin spits out, thats why it looks a bit chaotic).
Thank you all in advance!

You might want to take a look at panelling tools either directly in rhino (rhino 4) or with the grasshopper plugin (rhino 5 only).
You can get it from food4rhino website.
That one looks very promising, thanks!
I have one little question tho, I still have a problem that the vault consists out of multiple surfaces. I tried booleanunion, but it looks like not all of them intersect so that does not work properly. Can any1 point me to a good tutorial for creating surfaces out of given points or edges? The Vault plugin gives them automaticly but I have yet to figure out how to create a surface from them.
Thank you all in advance!
