Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Ok I'm a complete newbie when its comes to grasshopper and indeed Rhino. This question may seem elementary so here goes, In Rhino I have generated 1150 points, from which I need to generate a line from in the Z Axis with a number at the top of the line. I need to be able to control the lengths of the lines (not all 1150 lines)?

Its purely a graphical exercise at the moment but am rapidly considering doing it the old fashioned way. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you also Fred. Both work I'll post results soon

Hi Angelene,

There is an SDL component which stands for Start, Direction, Length in the Curve Tab > Primitive Panel

The Direction you want is a Z vector component and then set your lengths by what ever means.

also I just noticed this question has been posted as a FAQ which are intended to be model answers to topical questions. Would you mind changing the forum category of your original post. you can find out how here: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/i-ve-added-my-question-in...

Thanks Danny this is exactly what my intention was. I'll upload my results later.
