Firefly Webcam Bmp + Mesh Analysis to Generate Rotation Angle

Hello,

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to generate an angle rotation based on the basic Bmp input from a camera.

Ultimately I would like to take the image which produces an impression on a mesh of the darker areas, analyze that to turn into a degree of rotation for louvers.. The darker the image the wider the louvers open.

I understand this would probably be easier with a board and a light sensor but I do not have access and I think this should be straight forward but I am not sure.

Thanks,

John

Just thought I would share progress. Its working. But I have to input every surface and a point for a plane for rotation of each object I want to rotate.

Two questions:

Is there a way to simplify this so I can just group all the surfaces and automate a plane?

Are lights in the model editable through grasshopper? For example when the louvers close, the lights brightness increases..

Thanks,

John
