Firefly + Recording Input

I have a situation where i want to move an object in the z-axis and i am using a push button (clicker) to do this.

Each time i click the push button i want the object to move x units in the z-axis. However, i can not figure out how to add a unit each time i push the button instead it moves up a unit, then down a unit. 

Example:
If i push the button 5 times I'd like for the object to be moved in space that many units. I keep thinking of additive, or keeping a record/log of some sort and drawing from that as a list.

This is killing me and I must figure it out.
