algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Same here, haven't been able to remedy this.
It might not be FireFly, it may be that GH is just hanging all by itself after it finishes loading all GHAs. We're not sure yet. It's obviously a very serious issue but it's also proving to be a very odd one that is -so far- defying all my attempts at pinpointing it.

Was having same issue. Grasshopper 0.9.0056 crashes when loading Firefly X assembly. Was able to resolve by uninstalling Firefly 1.0.0.68 x64 and installing Firefly 1.0.0.68 x86 instead.
I think this may be an issue with Firefly (although it might be a problem in multiple areas). I believe one of the issues is that Firefly looks to see if a webcam is connected during the loading process. If it doesn't find a webcam, it tends to hang up the rest of the installation. I've put in a fair amount of code to try to remedy this (as it shouldn't ever actually try to instantiate anything to do with a camera until one of the components are actually dropped on the canvas)... still, the problem seems to be related to having a webcam connected. The reason the Kinect solves the problem is it also has access to a color camera, so this is likely solving the problem temporarily. I'm still trying to solve this issue, but it's very difficult to replicate on my machine... because even when I don't have a webcam installed on my machine (and I've disabled everything in my device manager) then everything loads fine on my end. For the time being, can you try connecting a webcam (it can be any cheap USB camera) to see if this solves the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Great thanks Andy,
Everything loads fine when I have a USB webcam plugged in.
Brilliant!! Works perfectly now!
Best,
Simon
Thank you Andy!
I had the same problem, but fixed the web cam problem with an android webcam app for my smartphone. I don't even need to have the webcam server up after the premier launch to get Firefly to upload! However I have all the components of Firefly under the call function, but they are not present in the components tab. I've reinstalled multiple times, any suggestions?
