Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm wondering if its possible to simulate the filling of an open ended volume (surface or mesh) from the top with small spheres?

Any suggestions on how I might start this??

The hope is to simulate solids falling from above into this slot:

Thanks very much!

It is - thank you!

Hello guys,

Jonyenns, I believe you want something like this: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/video/ballscloth-1

So you will need kangaroo physics plugin version 0.099 and you can search the forum (and the kangaroo group) for mesh and sphere collisions. (meshes work much faster than breps).

Then you would have to create a box above your geometry, populate it with points and use these points as particles which drop and fill the mesh volume.

You can also take a look at this pool definition to see how the forces are setup.

cheers,

Nikos

Hi Nikos - this is very helpful. Thank you!
