algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Guys,

I wanted to have sth like the attached picture , it is Fibonacci inscribed in rectangle

Thank you, images.jpg

...to have sth like...

Q1: What means sth?

Q2: Are you familiar with C#? (I have something "similar" for you but it's not using components).

best, Peter

Hi Peter,

Thank you for reply, I mean I want to create a model in 3D like that image, a spiral form which is rectangular in perimeter ,

No I dont know what is c#?

I also have the Fibonacci algorithm but is circular

Thank you

Have fun with this as well (pretend that's a "cluster" and/or an add-on component: just use it and don't bother how it works).

PS: C# is some freaky way to control GH without components - forget it.

PS: If you after curves in general I have a lot of similar "freaky" defs that create a vast variety of 3d curves (from a Bell curve to various other curves (including a Fibo curve) ... up to ... er ... hmm ... my famous Vodka Curve(C)(tm)). Notify if you want some (it's rather fun).

best, Peter

Peter, I d like to see more curves if you dont mind and its handy for you

I m also got interested to learn more about C#  , are there any source I m checking online now ,

Thank you and best,

Fa

Er ... hmm ... C# is one way ticket to hell > make a proper life insurance first.

Here's 5 curve makers (3+2): each one "maker" has the enable true/false option that fires up the "component".

Some of them have several options (driven by several parameters) making these a paranoid collection of "what if I had choose the other one". Not every parameter is related with every option (paranoid - as always) ... I could control far better the "engaged" sliders per option but this fuzzy situation adds to the "pleasure".

PS: what of these you fancy more?

Well...the method used for "shuffle" points MUST qualify as the most stupid way to skin a cat.

Recycle the old thing, Sorry.

Thanks Peter, to me the spiral and vodka sounds very unique n interesting , what i always look to create like a ramp heading up, but cant manipulate it by sliders ?

Bell curve is also interesting

Lucky you: I have several things that do ramps (sweep1 or 2 in case of variable start/end condition). Describe a bit further the issue AND provide some sketch/image/screen capture related with the ramp profile (the real profile not some abstract line) AND provide some sketch about the rails .

For instance the Ferrari of all ramps is what I.M.Pei did in that incredible Louvre Pyramid masterpiece (especially as regards the structural approach).

Now i a trying to figure out how to make a ramp around the rectangles in the Fibonacci shape, I mean the one you just send it two me two days ago, the ramp turns with the rectangles in their perimeter ascending up

Sketch?

Hi Peter,

I did a quick sketch for the ramps, I really appreciate it if you let me know how to do it with your algorithm. this is rough idea , indeed ramps are following the geometry of plan and they turn in every floor going up.

thank you

That's very easy. So the lofted rectangles are the floors, right?

Are you mimicking Frank Lloyd Wright? (I have a strong suspicion about that, he he).

I was thinking something more realistic:  I'll prepare a case for you (using a proper real-life ramp profile that does things ... a bit ... more ... complicated). Expect the usual chaotic collection (of conflicting) parameters, several divisions by zero and other trivial bugs (= Progress, what else?).

PS: 1M idea: What about a Mobius ramp? That could upset even Zaha and cause a certain stir in the AEC world (anti gravity turned off) and could (maybe) yield some Nobel/Oscar/Pulitzer/Emmy/Whatever Prize (anything could be OK with me).

more soon.
