Feature Suggestion - ZUI zoom into cluster to open it - Zoom out to close it

nuff said. ;-)

TouchDesigner works like this.

Have a look at about 9:38,

That would be awesome!

That would be awesome. Unfortunately this cannot directly be achieved in Grasshopper's case. I use GDI+ to draw the canvas and I use display transform matrices to mimic zooming and panning. There's only so much zooming before GDI+ throws in the towel altogether, which is already visible at the moment when zooming in on areas far away from the (0,0) point. Since clusters can contain other clusters, it would require zooming to become potentially infinite.

At any rate, once clusters become editable, it would be fairly trivial to trigger that feature, be it via menu, shortcut or ZUI.

Ah, so the UI is scaling essentially? I can see how you would run out of decimal places.

I figured it would not actually be an infinite zoom but only a trigger to open the associated definition, and store the parent def as a bread crum variable to find our way back. Maybe when in the cluster, there could be some sort of visual clues when you are about to pop back out; the components and canvas fade/desaturate or something. Almost as though your zooming away, up through a layer of clouds... Alright, back to sleep for me!
