algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I´m working on a building that has to recreate the form of a neuron but I´m having a little trouble trying to extrude a point from a surface to create the nucleo. I've tried several ways but none will create something similar to what i want...! Does someone have any idea of how can i do this?...I posted the image below!
Thank you very much!

Hi G. Castelly,
some years ago I've tried to create a similar shape.
The best way to do this is with metaballs.
But if you don't want to create a mesh for further work you can try to reach a result like it is shown in your attached image with the "Spatial Deform" comand.
Here is the result and the definition of my try, maybe it's helpfull.
Hi Martin!
Thanks for your help, actually the first image is something like what i'm looking for. I'm not on my computer right now, but i'll work on it later and show you my results!! But...I think it'll work perfectly!! =)
Thanks again!

Hi Martin,
Finally, I'm working on the first definiton you added. The only difference is that i need specific points to extrude the surface. I tried changing the vector and instead of adding random points in the sphere (cloud),i added specific points from the figure. But it doesn't work!.. =S
Is it posible to specify the point where i want the extrusion?
THANK YOU!!!

Hi,
of course there are possibilities to specify the point on the surface.
I think the best and most simple way is to add some refernce points from Rhino which are located in the place the tentacle will be created and search the closest point from this refernce point on the surface.
Then you can choose the normal vector or a custom vector for deformation.
I hope this is what you are searching for.
Best Martin.
