extrude along with sharp corners

is there a way to extrude a profile along a cornered curve by keeping the profile orientated perpendicular to the curve and create sharp edges?

I tried many things but could not solve that problem.

The attached image shows the result on the right side I am looking for. But instead of an extrude I used a Loft command which I cannot do in my proper definition.

I guess there is also an more elegant way of orientating the profiles along the curve then I did....I am open for your suggestions!!!
