algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all,
I've been working on generating minimal surfaces with grasshopper and kangaroo to create building enclosure and spaces.
I have decided to use a series of ribs to create the structure for the enclosure, but I cannot get what I want from the model. I'll try and outline what I want coherently;
-I start with 3 points/openings within an arbitrary mesh for the purposes of this testing.
-Then, using a minimal surfaces script I push and pull these points/openings to create a surface.
-With the desired form I now want to create structure along the surface, radiating from the centres of the points/openings. I also want the radiated structure from each centre point/opening to stop, or merge, at the intersections with each other.
The problem I am encountering is how to actually extract this from the mesh. I have tried to do it manually with meshtoNURB and extracting isocurve but it does not get the desired result.
Help would be greatly appreciated because this is the only thing stopping me from continuing with my work as it is the key the project.
I have attached my mesh and a a script I was trying to develop to make it do what I need, but gave up on it.

I think I may have solved my issue by modifying the approach to generate and manipulate the meshes. You can see the whole approach in the rhino file attached.
The issue I now have is not generating these radiating lines, but rather solving the way they meet. In the rhino file you can see that I have made lines from the centre of the shape to the edges between the circles and trim there. This creates the two issues for me.
Finding that centre point is simple enough, but I would like to use grasshopper to generate the lines that meet the closest edges, between two circles. Also, I would like the radiating lines to preferably meet at the same point on those lines.
I think once those two issues are solved this will work exactly how I want it.
