Hi Ahmed,

What do you want to extract from text, made with the text component? You can use the text contour component to convert it to curves for example.

Best regards,

FF

I did this and it works very well.

I wonder, if there are other options to get my hands on the text again.

the component advanced text 3d gives as output always the same string ...

Hi Ahmed,

It actually doesn't output a string. Only if you connect a Panel it shows a string saying "Rhino.Geometry.TextEntitiy", which stands for the actual object.

The object itself contains properties like:

Font

Mask Color

Text

Text Formula

Text Height

see here for more:

My question was, what do you want to get from this object? In my opinion there isn't any interesting stuff you want to get. Plane, Font, Color and Text you already have because it comes from the source which you used to create the 3D Text.

I want to be able to get hold of it ... move it for example ...

With the textcontour it works fine ... but, is there also other ways? what are these ways?

Thank you very much ...
